Farm Sitting

We are looking for one or two responsible and self-reliant people who can take care of chickens, ducks, horses, dogs, the gardens, the irrigation system and general maintenance.

It is also important that you are comfortable with the challenges that come with solar-powered electricity, water pumps, watering systems etc.

During the summer months, when it is too hot to work, we take a break from having regular volunteers and the residents spend more time away from the farm.

But there are important daily tasks, such as feeding animals, walking dogs, watering plants and other basic tasks to ensure the well-being of all things alive.

​

This is a great position for someone who is looking to retreat or who works remotely, for an art residency or to simply spend some time alone in nature, staying in the same place for a while.

​

You must keep in mind that the farm is 6.5 km on a dirt track, which is a minimum of 15 minutes by car from the next village.

So your own transport is essential!

If you do feel like socializing though, our area provides many opportunities to meet other people, with its abundance of markets, events, bars and cafes.

​

In exchange, we provide you with accommodation, good wifi internet and the use of the facilities.

​

The beautiful canyon Pego das Pias is only a hike away and the amazing Alentejo beaches are a 40-minute drive from the land.
